WINTER ADVENTURES

Skiing & Snowboarding

Deer Valley: Deer Valley Resort combines the hospitality of a five-star hotel with world-class skiing. Soon to feature over 5726 acres of terrain, 37 chairlifts and 238 ski runs, enjoy capacity-controlled skiing (snowboarding not permitted) and the finest gromming in the world.

Park City Mountain: Park City Mountain is the largest ski and snowboard resort in the United States with 7300 acres, over 330 trails, 43 lifts and 6 terrain parks. Both skiers and snowboarders are welcome.

Dog Sledding

Luna Lobos: For the Luna Lobos team, it’s all about family. Owners and operators, Dana and Fernando have been racing sled dogs all their life.

Snowmobiling

Park City Peaks: Located on a 60,000-acre private ranch where only their patrons are allowed to ride in the region.

Backcountry Snowmobiling: Option to tour through multiple states with inspiring views of the rugged Rocky Mountains for a genuine backcountry experience.

High Country: The Wasatch/Cache/Uintah National Forests offer over 200 miles of groomed snowmobile trails and access to over 400,000 acres of mountain terrain.

Red Pine Adventures: Located just around the corner from Canyons Village with over 1000 acres of private land available to explore.

Snowshoeing

Wasatch Adventure Guides: Daily tours and custom tours are available. Special tours such as full moon tours are also available.

Mountain Vista Touring: Greet the new rising sun, howl at the moon stargazing at night, or do a 1/2 Day trip in the beautiful Uinta Mountains.

Nordic Skiing

White Pine Touring: The White Pine Nordic Center features over 20 kilometers of classic and skate ski track that is groomed daily. Local staff teach classic and skate ski lessons, guide cross country ski tours in town and the nearby Uinta Mountains. Rentals available.

Basin Recreation: Grooms 25 kilometers of free multipurpose trails.

Soldier Hallow: Outside Park City in the Midway area, where the 2002 Olympic Nordic events took place.

Round Valley: Park City’s open space park offers 30km of groomed winter trails.

Snow Tubing

Woodward Park City: Tubing available in 2-hour sessions, morning through early evening, longest snow tubing season in the area.

Soldier Hallow: Located outside Park City in Midway, generally less busy than Woodward while reservations are required.

Sleigh Rides

Viking Yurt: Enjoy a sleigh ride followed by six-course dinner at the Viking Yurt, elevation 8700. Departs from Mountain Village (Park City base). FYI – given distance and terrain sleigh is pulled by snowcat.

Snowed Inn: Western winter experience with horse drawn sleigh ride and rustic hoedown/dinner. Departs from Mountain Village (Park City base).

Broken Arrow: Horse drawn sleigh rides at Deer Valley.

Park City Sleigh Rides: Horse drawn sleigh rides departing from Canyons Village.

Rocky Mountain Outfitters: Sleigh rides outside of Park City in the neighboring area of the Heber Valley.

Fireside Dining: Combine Deer Valley’s Fireside Dining with a horse drawn sleigh on select evenings.

Ice Skating

Resort Center: Outdoor seasonal facility at Park City’s Mountain Village (Park City) base.

Park City Ice Arena: Indoor, year-round facility, check website for open skate times.

Other Winter Activities

Ice Castles: During peak winter periods enjoy a magical fairyland made out of ice.

Bobsled at Utah Olympic Park: A professional pilot will take you on a thrilling ride down the 2002 Olympic track. Available both summer and winter, 16+ years of age or older.

Snow Kiting: Enjoy the power of the wind propelling you across the snow.

 

 

SUMMER ADVENTURES

Golf

Park City Golf Course: Park City’s public 18-hole golf course is located at the Hotel Park City near the Mountain Village (Park City) base, enjoyed by many it is also an excellent place to learn.

Soldier Hallow: Located outside Park City in the community of Midway with 36 holes.

Wasatch Mountain: Located outside of Park City in the community of Midway with two courses.

Mountain Dell: Located between Park City and Salt Lake in Parley’s Canyon with 36 holes.

Hiking

Brighton Lakes Loop: Head through Old Town taking a scenic drive up and over Guardsman Pass to Brighton. There take the Brighton Lakes Loop past Lake Mary, Martha and Catherine. FYI – if hungry afterwards set your GPS for the Silver Fork Lodge.

Blood Lake: Out and back in Park City’s Bonanza Flats Conservation Area.

Crystal and Watson Lakes: Head up Mirror Lake highway and enjoy this out and back hike.

Albion Basin: Come July wildflowers abound in Albion Basin, arrive early or late (peak times can get busy) heading past Alta following the signs for the Albion Basin Campground (toll applies), from there hike up to Cecret Lake.

On the water

Beach at Jordanelle State Park: Enjoy the beach at Jordanelle State Park’s Hailstone Recreation area.

Boat Rentals with Jordanelle Rentals: Offers boat, jet ski, kayak and SUP rentals.

Water Fun with Island Aqua Park: Enjoy sliding and jumping from the Wibit at Deer Creek reservoir.

River Tubing with High Country Adventure: Offers tube rentals and shuttles, typical float time is 90

Biking

Summit County and Park City are pleased to introduce Summit Bike Share. All of our bikes have electric-assist, just simply begin pedalling and the bike will provide an extra boost to get you moving and up hilly terrain without breaking a sweat!

Trails: Park City has an extensive 450 mile network of mountain biking trails criss crossing the ski resorts and beyond. Classics include the Wasatch Crest Trail and Mid-Mountain Trail while numerous other options abound. Trails are free while optional lift and/or shuttle service is available as noted below.

Lift Served Mountain Biking at Park City Mountain: Lift served mountain biking is available from both Mountain Village (Park City) and Canyons Village base areas.

Lift Served Mountain Biking at Deer Valley: Nearly 70 miles of lift served mountain biking including four flow trails designed by Gravity Logic.

Mountain Biking Shuttle by Big Rack: Grab a ride up to Guardsman Pass, ride across the Wasatch Crest Trail and down to Park City (or if you prefer head the other direction all the way down to Salt Lake City).

Horseback Riding

Red Pine Adventures: Located just around the corner from Canyons Village, offers guided horseback rides all Red Pine’s own privately-owned land.

Boulder Mountain Ranch: Offering horseback riding at Deer Valley.

KB Horses: Located outside Park City in the Heber Valley, offers horseback riding as well as wagon rides.

Scenic Drives

Mirror Lake Highway: Head up the Mirror Lake Highway (closed winter) and stop at the namesake Mirror Lake where there is a easy walk available around the lake.

Guardsman Pass: Head through Old Town taking a scenic drive up and over Guardsman Pass (closed winter) to Brighton. At end of the road make a left and stop at Brighton where there is an easy walk available around Silver Lake.

Fly Fishing

Heber Valley Railroad: The Heber Valley Railroad is a heritage railroad based in Heber City, Utah. Climb aboard for views of the Wasatch Back and the dramatic landscape of the Provo Canyon.

Kiteboarding with Uinta Kiting: The thermal wind that blows through Deer Creek reservoir provides for perfect kiteboarding conditions with Uinta Kiting offering kiteboarding rentals and lessons.

Summer Freestyle Skiiing Lessons into the Pool at Utah Olympic Park: Come learn to jump into the freestyle pool like an Olympian! During the summer Park City Ski and Snowboard offers daily private, semi-private and group lessons for anyone interested in learning the basics of freestyle skiing by jumping into the Spence Eccles Olympic Freestyle Pool!

Disc Golf: Head up the Red Pine Gondola and enjoy a par-54 disc golf course. While charge applies for riding the gondola and disc rental, the disc golf course is free.

FIS Freestyle Ski World Cup: The world’s best freestyle skiers decend on Deer Valley to twist, fly and race their way to the podium on the same runs used during the 2002 Olympic Winter Games.

Flying Ace Freestyle Show at Utah Olympic Park: During the summer catch the Flying Ace All-Stars Freestyle Show. See Olympians and National Team skiers and snowboarders perform acrobatic feats as they soar up to 60 feet in the air before landing in the Park’s Spence Eccles Olympic Freestyle Pool.

Savor the Summit: Enjoy Park City’s longest table as Park City’s restaurants set up on main street for an evening to remember.

Deer Valley Concert Series: Complimenting the Deer Valley Music Festival, the Deer Valley Concert Series features feature acts on Deer Valley’s lawn.

Fireside Dining: During the Winter season enjoy fireside dining at Empire Canyon Lodge. The alpine inspired menu features four courses, including the guest favorite, raclette cheese, served from stone fireplaces. Specialty cocktails, a full bar, and wine & beer pairings are available as well. 

Apex: Montage Deer Valley’s signature restaurant, whipping up classic continental cuisine with fresh, local ingredients, in a pristine mountain setting.
